Lifestyle Blog #10: #acv Apple Cider Vinegar

IMG_6896

I don’t mean to Bragg, but there are so many wonderful things to say about this apple cider vinegar, I could go on for days.

It’s organic, raw, unfiltered and gluten-free.  More importantly are the health benefits that come along with adding apple cider vinegar to your daily lifestyle.  It helps with sore throats, the common cold, coughing and/or congestion, relieves stomach problems, aids in weight loss, clears acne, minimizes scars and keloids, boosts energy, whitens teeth, prevents indigestion, cleanses your body, strengthens hair, balances pH balance in the body, lowers blood pressure, etc.

Amazing-Benefits-Of-Apple-Cider-Vinegar

I’ve been including ACV in my every day routine for the past two weeks, and I can already see and feel a difference.  It’s amazing!  I initially used it as a natural, homeopathic remedy for my cold, but I was more than satisfied with the results and have been reaping the benefits ever since.  I add a teaspoon of ACV to my tea with honey and lemon.  It really helps with the taste and makes it go down my system without a problem.  I used to take it straight by itself and let me tell you, it’s definitely an acquired taste.

Try this miracle apple cider vinegar for yourself and share your experience about it.

As always, goodbye, thank you and remember – jog, blog and more.

Lifestyle Blog #9: #fbf Fabulous Bag Friday

8 5

It’s Friday and you know what that means.  It’s another #fbf and I don’t mean Flashback Friday.  It’s Fabulous Bag Friday and I’m talking about the Michael Kors Selma Large Satchel bag.

My sisters and I each purchased a bag, in a different color of course, as a sister bag and immediately fell in love with it.  My favorite color is blue, so naturally I picked the vivacious, electric blue color.  It’s such a beautiful color!  It really stands out and I get compliments on it all the time.  Shortly after we purchased our sister bags, my older sister even purchased two more additional colors.  Talk about an obsession, but who could blame her?  With a variety of vibrant, bold colors and size for any body type, it’s hard to just buy one.

The material is Saffiano leather, ideal for everyday use.  I’ve been using my bag for about 4 months now and I haven’t had a scratch or stain on it yet (knock on wood).  The measurements are 14 in. (width) x 9 in. (height) x 3 ½ in. (depth).  My favorite thing about the bag, besides the actual appearance and style of it, is that it’s practical.  You can wear it with or without a strap, it has a top zip closure and more than enough compartment pockets to store your must-have essentials like a phone, money, lip gloss, Altoid mints and the like in.

If you already own one, please comment and share your opinion about it.  I’d love to hear it.

Join me next week for another #fbf, Fabulous Bag Friday.

As always, goodbye, thank you and remember – jog, blog and more.

Lifestyle Blog #8: The Pretty Little Park Workout

IMG_7150

Happy holidays, it’s that glorious time of year again! Since it’s the busiest time of year, we tend to neglect our eating habits and exercise routines. Don’t let the holidays get the best of you. I admit, I let it get the best of me last week for Thanksgiving. However, I won’t let it happen again for Christmas. Join me in taking the jogging challenge. All you have to do is jog every day; it’s that simply. I’ve been jogging 2 miles daily since Monday at the park, but whatever your body can handle is fine. As an alternative, you can walk or do any activity which requires you to move your body and get your heart rate up like an aerobic or spin class. Just don’t forget to stretch before and after a workout. It’s very important because it helps you maintain optimal joint function.

The more you jog, the better you become. I noticed my time has been better with each day. My goal is to jog 2 miles in 22 minutes before Christmas. With hard work, determination and dedication, I know I make accomplish my goal.

I found a great post yesterday and thought I’d repost it. It’s wonderfully written, and since I’ve been jogging at the park lately, I thought it’d be perfect.

As always, goodbye, thank you and remember – jog, blog and more.

The Pretty Little Posts

I’m all about the sun and warm California days but I must say that this cold, fall weather hasn’t been too bad for my workouts. I’ve actually been jogging at the park for the last couple of days and it’s been nice. The air is crisp and fresh, squirrels are out and about, and listening to the birds chirp is actually quite pleasing, that is – until I put my headphones on. Lol. I love listening to music when I workout because it makes the workout go by so much quicker. Wouldn’t you agree?

The pretty little park workout is a great workout because there are so many things you can do at the park – run, walk, jog, do yoga, play basketball, do exercises, skateboard, ride your bicycle, roller skate, and so on and so on. The park is nearby and so convenient, especially when I want to run and…

Lifestyle Blog #7: #fbf Fabulous Bag Friday

IMG_8610

Flashback Friday?  Wrong.  The acronym, fbf, most commonly known as Flashback Friday, has a whole new meaning, well according to me that is.  Fabulous Bag Friday.  Catchy, right?  I wanted to feature my favorite, fabulous bag in my modest, small collection of designer handbags – the Louis Vuitton Monogram Neverfull GM bag.

The name itself says it all.  It never gets full no matter how many things I stuff in there.  It’s truly an amazing, iconic bag.  The dimensions are 15.7 inches (length) x 13 inches (height) x 7.9 inches (width), so you can imagine all the things you can pack into that baby.  It’s a dream come true for women, like myself, who love carrying everything in their handbag.  It’s also a pleasant surprise to be prepared in case someone needs something you carry in your bag like lip gloss/makeup, water, snacks, Tylenol, clothing, etc. (the possibilities are endless) and with the bag being so spacious and luxurious, who wouldn’t want one of their very own?  I’ve had mine for years and with lots of TLC (tender, love and care), it’s still in immaculate, great condition.  I’m still using the bag until this day.

If you already own one, please comment and share your opinion about it.  I’d love to hear it.

I can’t wait to tell you all about next week’s #fbf – the Michael Kors Electric Blue Selma Large Satchel bag.

As always, goodbye, thank you and remember – jog, blog and more.

Lifestyle Blog #6: Thanksgiving 2015

IMG_6934

It’s that time of year again – fall, family, friends, turkey with all the fixings, food coma, football and shopping.

I have so much to be thankful for this year – a loving family, amazing friends, good health, a great job, incredible vacations and priceless experiences.  Aside from being grateful, we all know the best thing about Thanksgiving is being surrounded with your loved ones – family, significant other, and friends.  The second best thing?  Dessert of course.

If you’re like me and have a sweet tooth, chances are that you agree dessert is hands down, the best part of a meal.  Thanksgiving wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without pumpkin pie.  It’s a must, unless you’re allergic, then I apologize you can’t take part in devouring the true flavor of the holiday season, delectable pumpkin.  I can never have just one slice either.  They don’t call Thanksgiving a feast for nothing.  It’s the one day out of the year where you can eat until your heart’s content; you don’t have to watch what you eat and you don’t feel one once of guilt about it either.  That’s why I prepare by getting in an intense, calorie-burning pre-Thanksgiving workout for three, consecutive days before the big day.  There are other desserts like cakes, cupcakes, ice cream and cookies, but for this holiday, pie is my go-to.

Have a safe, happy holiday and enjoy all the incredible Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals.

As always, goodbye, thank you and remember – jog, blog and more.

Lifestyle Blog # 5: Yoga

8 9

Namaste.

Today’s blog is about yoga.  Yoga is a mental (mind), physical (body) and spiritual (soul) practice that originated in India.  I took a beginner course when I was in college 8 years ago and from that day on, I was hooked.  Yoga improves your balance, flexibility and posture, builds muscle strength, betters your bone health, increases your blood flow, reduces stress and anxiety, makes you happy, gives you energy, lowers your blood pressure, helps you focus, boosts your immune system, relaxes your body, gives you peace of mind, increases your self-esteem and transforms your body.

BodyOnYoga

With several types of yoga – Anusara, Ashtanga, Bikram, Hatha, Iyengar, Power, Prenatal, Restorative, etc., ranging from slow-paced to advanced poses, there’s a right fit for any individual.

There are 2 tips I would advise to fellow/future yogis: 1.) Practice, practice, practice.  There’s always room for improvement.  The more I practiced, the better I got.  It takes a lot of dedication and determination, but it’s definitely worth the time and effort.  I’m not going to lie, it took me months before I could master a handstand, but there’s no greater feeling than knowing you can do anything you put your mind to. 2.) Try different types of yoga.  Like the saying goes, you never know until you try.  Personally, I’m not a fan of Bikram (hot) yoga, but I love Hatha yoga.  If you don’t like a certain type of yoga, don’t just give up all together; try and take another type of yoga and who knows, you just might fall in love with it.

Lifestyle Blog #4: Chanel Nail Polish

IMG_6716

For my fourth post, I thought I’d write about the iconic, recognizable double C’s.  You know what I’m talking about.  As a woman, I love to feel girly and paint my nails.  I’ve tried different brands of nail polish, but found Chanel nail polish to be the best.

As you can see from my picture, I’m obsessed with their nail polish and made the logo from my personal collection.  No matter what time of year it is, I have a color for every month and season.  My collection is far from complete, but my colors range from dark to light and everything in between, I’m covered.

Each Chanel nail polish is formaldehyde-free, toluene-free and DBP-free and will set you back $30.  It’s a small price to pay for such a classic, trendy and toxin-free shade that provides high quality, long lasting color.

I’m still deciding what color to wear for Thanksgiving, but one thing is for sure – I’ll definitely be choosing a festive, fall color.  Any suggestions?

As always, goodbye, thank you and remember – jog, blog and more.

Lifestyle Blog #3: Mixbooks

For my third lifestyle post, I thought I’d write about my favorite photo book website, www.mixbook.com.

According to their website, “Mixbook is the easy and fun way to make completely customizable photo books, cards, and calendars on the web – for free. With Mixbook, you aren’t limited to static pre-designed templates – our powerful design software gives you the freedom to lay out and design your creations to your heart’s content. We’ve dedicated ourselves to bringing you the best experience in creating photo products so that you can make keepsakes that truly reflect your vision.”

With amazing customer service, professional quality photo books and your own creativity for inspiration, need I say more?  Since I became a member in 2011, I’ve never looked elsewhere.  I’ve created over a dozen of mixbooks from my vacations to Hawaii, Europe, Australia, Asia, etc. to my collection of magazines to a year in review; you can create a book from anything.

After I publish my mixbook and see the end result, I always have this feeling of accomplishment and am always proud of the work I created.  You get self-satisfaction and appreciate it more because you took the time and effort to make something so special, meaningful and priceless.

Don’t just put pictures in a photo album, create a mixbook you can treasure for life.  Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

As always, goodbye, thank you and remember – jog, blog and more.

Lifestyle Blog #2: Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 Instant Camera

I know this is supposed to be a weekly blog, but I just simply can’t stay away… I’m a blog addict now.  Since I’m a novice blogger, I thought just for the first week only, I’d post a new blog every day.  It’ll help me become a better blogger and get my creative juices flowing.

For my second lifestyle post, I thought I’d write about the Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 Instant Camera.  It’s great for traveling, special occasions and let’s just be honest, pretty much everyday use.

Nowadays, the majority of us rely on our smartphones to take pictures; we just whip out our smartphone and they’re all conveniently in our “Photos” app.  Let’s give people a reason to put their smartphones away, at least for a few minutes anyways.

It may seem out of the ordinary to bring an instant camera along with you, but you’ll definitely get onlookers and the like talking.  I used my white Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 for the first time while vacationing in Central California with my boyfriend last March.  It captured all the beautiful, picturesque places we visited in an instant.  Ever since, I’ve used it to take random pictures of anything and everything.  Although the image quality, lighting and focus aren’t ideal in some settings, I like the old-school, vintage charm.  It brings back wonderful memories of when I was younger.  Plus, they’re great for sharing with loved ones, making one-of-a-kind birthday cards and putting in photo albums and scrapbooks.

For $60 – $80, you can own an instant camera and start capturing new memories.  It’s also great as a gift and with Christmas coming up, who wouldn’t want one?  It comes in a variety of colors and it’s something unique and playful.

As always, goodbye, thank you, and remember – jog, blog and more.

Lifestyle Blog #1: Nike Roshe Shoes

IMG_6670

It only seems fitting that my first lifestyle blog be about jogging.  After all, the title of my blog is: Jog, Blog and More.  I would like to consider myself a fitness enthusiast.  Although I don’t always feel like working out, I know it’s a great stress-reliever, gives you energy, relieves fatigue and most importantly, boosts your self-esteem and confidence – you feel and look better.  In addition, there are so many wonderful health benefits to jogging; it helps build strong bones, strengthens muscles, burns calories and improves cardiovascular.

With the holiday season right around the corner, let’s get an early start and improve our overall well-being.  Before you begin your exercise regime, you have to choose the right jogging shoes and for those inquiring, beautiful minds wondering what that might be, I have the answer.  Nike Roshe Shoes.  Once I started wearing them back in 2013, I’ve never stopped.  Why ruin a good thing?  They’re comfortable, comfortable and did I mention comfortable?  They’re also versatile, a classic style, epitomize simplicity and have amazing cushion.

For the reasonable price ranging from $75 – $135, your feet will definitely thank you at the end and with an array of colors and designs, it’s hard to buy just one pair.  As an incentive, you can always purchase an extra pair or two, even in the same color (that’s what I do).  It’ll motivate you to put your shoes to good use while at the same time, improve your health.  You can’t go wrong; it’s a win-win situation and I’m all for that.

If you’re ever in the Los Angeles area jogging and see someone wearing a pair of Roshes, it might just be me.

Until next week’s post, goodbye and thank you.
